Innovation Manager - Electronics and Infocomm Technologies

Reporting to the Head, you will work closely with the management of local enterprises to understand and scope the technology challenges that they encounter in their businesses. You will then collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team in IPI to address these challenges by identifying suitable technologies, intellectual property (IP) and experts through IPI’s global innovation network. 

In addition, you will work with the team in conducting extensive research to identify emerging technology/market trends. The role will require you to engage various stakeholders such as industry, local innovation and enterprise offices, government agencies and trade organisations to catalyse the adoption of technologies to actualise industry transformation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head in developing and executing plans and strategies to engage various stakeholders across different sectors and industries.
  • Work with enterprises to translate their technical challenges into problem statements for crowdsourcing or tech-matching
  • Organise and execute industry engagement activities / events to catalyse innovation adoption
  • Map industry value chains and keep abreast of market and technology trends
  • Engage strategic technology providers with technology portfolio in areas of interest


  • Degree or Postgraduate degree in Electrical or Electronics / Computer Engineering, with at least 5 years relevant working experience.
  • At least 5 years relevant industry experience in Electrical / Electronics Engineering with a background in product or systems development.
  • Knowledge or hands-on experience in data science, artificial intelligence, blockchain, or computer vision.
  • Prior experience in a technology commercialization function would be advantageous.
  • Able to appreciate and analyse a broad range of topics beyond one’s field of education and experience, and with curiosity in emerging fields and technology trends.
  • Able to appreciate and understand new technologies, carry out technology due-diligence and market assessments in assessment of commercialization potential.
  • Able to organise and present findings clearly using suitable tools and software, e.g., patent searching
  • Able to cultivate networks and build alliances with strategic partners
  • Good project management and presentation skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work within a multi-disciplinary team
