Senior Technology Manager or Technology Manager, Food

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will conduct extensive research to identify market trends and scout for emerging technologies aligned to the identify trends, and share it through various channels to catalyse adoption. You will also be required to recommend technologies and expertise that could help to overcome problems faced by the local enterprises when developing new or enhanced products, processes and services.

In addition, you will work closely with the Principal Technology Manager to seek continuous improvement to the technology scouting and technology landscaping processes, delivery, and timelines.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Map industry value chains and keep abreast of market and technology trends
  • Scout for technologies and expertise to address the technological and innovation needs of local enterprises and public agencies
  • Curate technologies that are aligned with current industry needs and technology trends that are able to address gaps and opportunities in companies’ product and technology roadmaps
  • Disseminate technologies to companies with the objectives to create awareness and catalyse adoption via well-designed events or as Tech Offers on IPI’s platform, IPI partners’ platforms and any other adequate means
  • Provide technology partners with insights on industry trends, needs and collaboration models
  • Develop technical contents to generate leads and showcase the depth of IPI’s technical knowledge to catalyse innovation adoption
  • Organise and execute industry engagement activities / events to catalyse innovation adoption and reinforce IPI’s role as a neutral and trusted innovation partner
  • Account-manage technology partners and multipliers
  • Work with the Innovation Managers and Innovation Advisory (IA) team to provide end-to-end innovation services to local enterprises


  • At least 5 years of relevant industry experience in food product research and development, and good knowledge in food manufacturing processes and regulations
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in food formulation, food processing, flavoring, fermentation, functional food, etc
  • Prior experience in a technology commercialization function would be advantageous
  • Bachelor’s degree and above in Food Science and Technology or related fields
  • Appreciate and understand new technologies, carry out technology due-diligence and market assessments to address the innovation and technology needs of enterprises.
  • Appreciate and analyse a broad range of topics beyond one’s field of education and experience, and with curiosity in emerging fields and technology trends.
  • Resourcefulness and analytical
  • Organise and present findings clearly using suitable tools and software, e.g., patent searching
  • Experience in patent search and analytical skills would be advantageous
