The World Economic Forum considers the UK a leading country for Industry 4.0 – ranked 2nd for technology and innovation, and 1st for available financing.

UK has a thriving manufacturing industry, with more than 100,000 manufacturing companies in the UK and the UK government aims for investment in R&D to reach 2.4% of GDP by 2027. The UK government is also set to invest £147 million into the second round of "Manufacturing Made Smarter," a scheme set to promote innovation and interconnectivity within the UK's manufacturing scene.

UK and Singapore share similar ambitions and The Department for International Trade (DIT), in collaboration with the UK Science and Innovation Network (SIN), Tech Nation, and IPI, have organised a virtual trade mission from 6-12 May 2021.

10 UK companies will be at this mission to explore collaboration opportunities with you. These companies offer products and services ranging from surveillance sensors, IoT security, AI, and Robotics solutions.

In this virtual mission, you will be able to:

  1. Gain a deeper understanding of UK’s Industry 4.0 landscape from Professor Hamid Mughal OBE, Special Advisor to The University of Strathclyde
  2. Find out more about the products and service offerings of the UK companies through their pitches
  3. Meet with UK companies via a dedicated business meeting platform
