IPI was invited to speak on the topic of “Platforms for Technology Matchmaking” at the Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Forum organised by Thailand Management Association (TMA) on 18 October 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand. Themed “Creating the Right Ecosystem: Collaborating to Innovate”, the STI Forum aims to promote the knowledge and concept of Open Innovation as well as to encourage R&D collaborations between enterprises for innovative solutions.

Michael Goh, Deputy Director of Energy Environment & Manufacturing from IPI, highlighted the gaps in technology and innovation adoption and shared with the audience how IPI plays the matchmaking role of connecting businesses with technology providers to enhance innovation capability. He introduced the various engagement models which IPI works with to facilitate partnerships, such as its:
• 1-to-1 company engagement;
• self-service online portal to search for technologies of interest and crowdsource for solutions;
• TechInnovation, IPI’s flagship industry-technology matching event; and
• Enterprise Europe Network which connects businesses to world’s largest innovation and business support network.
