The sixth Innovation and Enterprise Office (IEO) Forum hosted by Ngee Ann Polytechnic on 27 September brought together over 70 representatives from the IEO community and invited guest speakers from industry and government sectors. The IEO Forum which is supported by IPI, serves as an active platform for IEOs to share the latest initiatives focussed on strengthening the local innovation landscape through academia-industry technology collaboration.

The forum agenda included an update on the initiatives to support the innovation ecosystem in Singapore by the National Research Foundation, topics on innovation in the eldercare space by the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) and how IEOs could co-develop technologies with the AIC to address the common challenges encountered to better support caregivers and patients. The Singapore MedTEch Consortium also provided an introduction on the services it offers to support technology development. Formed in 2017, the consortium is led by precision engineering small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) Racer Technology and supported by Enterprise Singapore and Singapore Precision Engineering and Technology Association.

Participants got to hear about the latest updates of the upcoming SFF x SWITCH (Singapore Fintech Festival x Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology). TechInnovation will be held in conjunction with SFF x SWITCH 2019 from 11 to 13 November. Forum host Ngee Ann Polytechnic shared with the audience its IP policy on students’ work.

“The success of the IEO Forum is made possible only through the immense support and strong commitment from the IEOs.
