Singapore, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain, Turkey, and the United Kingdom (UK) announced a joint call for projects through EUREKA GlobalStars – a multilateral funding initiative for research and development (R&D) of innovative products and applications with strong market potential. In the first EUREKA GlobalStars Call with Singapore, joint innovation proposals with a focus on medical technology, smart mobility and logistics, or advanced manufacturing were sought.

To promote the call, Enterprise Singapore (ESG), the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (in its capacity as EUREKA Chair) and IPI jointly organised an information and networking event on 13 August 2019. The session was also graced by Ambassadors Her Excellency Margriet Vonno, His Excellency Andy Detaille, and His Excellency Santiago Miralles Huete from the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain, who gave the opening remarks.

An introduction on the EUREKA GlobalStars Call with Singapore was made by Mike Timmermans, EUREKA NPC Chair 2019-2020, Netherlands Enterprise Agency and Jonathan Lim, Global Innovation Network Director, Enterprise Singapore. Lim Ming Khai, Deputy Director, IPI shared about the technology matching support that IPI offers through its various open innovation platforms for EUREKA project partners.

The event was attended by close to 300 participants. The Q&A and networking segments that followed saw lively interactions between the attendees and organisers.
