IPI hosted its Tech Partners’ Networking Session on 29 March 2018, an annual tradition for IPI to express its appreciation for the forthcoming support demonstrated by its local and overseas technology partners from the innovation and enterprise community, industry associations, government agencies and embassies. In addition, the event provided an ideal setting to update each other on upcoming plans, forge new connections and deepen existing ones.

In his opening remarks, Professor Lam Khin Yong, Executive Director highlighted the crucial role that IPI would play to promote technology transfer to SMEs given the greater emphasis on research, innovation and enterprise as IPI enters the mid-term of the five-year RIE2020 Plan. He underlined the synergies from IPI’s transition to an affiliate of Enterprise Singapore as SPRING and IE Singapore come together on 2 April to form a single agency to champion enterprise growth. Prof Lam also invited all technology partners to play a part at TechInnovation, IPI’s technology-industry matching event held on 18 and 19 September at the Marina Bay Sands. Running for the seventh year, TechInnovation 2018 will feature more than 160 exhibitors and 400 innovative technologies.

Providing a succinct wrap-up, Dr Sze Tiam Lin, Senior Director of IPI, thanked the technology partners for their generous support and reiterated how collaboratively as a community, greater success can be accomplished.
