IPI participated in AUTM Asia 2017, the regional offshoot of the international AUTM conference with a focus on learning and exploring IP opportunities in Asia and Greater China. Held from 23 to 26 April 2017 in Hong Kong, it was attended by over 400 participants from academic research institutes, industries, entrepreneurs and technology transfer professionals.

Dr Sze Tiam Lin, Senior Director of IPI, was one of the speakers at the conference track centred on the various stakeholder perspectives in University-Industry Tech Transfer. Dr Sze shared IPI’s experience in addressing the opportunities and challenges faced during university-industry collaborations. To tackle the challenges faced by the industry, IPI provides the network support to bridge knowledge gaps and matching support through its online and physical marketplace. At the same time, IPI supports university technology transfer by offering its technology partners the access to its network of enterprises across various industries and helps them develop and maintain the ongoing relations if needed given their limited resources.

The IPI team also took the opportunity to reach out to many of the conference attendees and promote its upcoming flagship technology-industry brokerage event TechInnovation which would be held on 19 and 20 September 2017 at the Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.
