IPI organised its first Technology Commercialisation Workshop on 17 and 18 April 2019. Designed to deepen participants’ knowledge and skills in commercialising new technologies, the programme covered topics such as tools to evaluate the commercial potential of technologies, different go-to-market strategies, and essentials of technology valuation and intellectual property (IP) licensing. Participants were able to glean practical insights into the commercialisation journey through the interactive lectures supplemented with real-life case studies and hands-on exercises.

"The Technology Commercialisation workshop presented a holistic perspective of Technology Transfer Office (TTO) roles. You don't know what you don't know until you have attended this workshop. In addition, it also provided good networking opportunities for the TTO community," commented Dr Lee Teck Kheng, Director, Technology Transfer Office, Institute of Technical Education.

More than 20 technology transfer and innovation professionals from various Singapore public agencies attended the two-day workshop conducted by IPI trainers Senior Director Dr Sze Tiam Lin and Deputy Director Michael Goh.

The Technology Commercialisation Workshop will be held twice a year. A second run will be held on 12 and 13 September 2019. For more information, please enquire here.
