Dr Lim Sheau Hooi is Senior Manager for the Sustainable Materials Team at EWTCOI since 2012. Her expertise includes waste to resources, semiconductor materials, coating formulations and eco-product developments. Dr Lim is also an expert in materials characterisation for different sectors, specialising in proof-of-concept and setting up customised testing for new product developments.
Prior to joining EWTCOI, she held materials engineering positions in Intel and Infineon. She holds a PhD in Material Science from National University of Singapore and Degree in Applied Chemistry from the University of Malaya.
Developed an e-solar paint formulation that has passive cooling properties to address the environmental disadvantages that are posed by the existing polymer-based paints. The paint formulation has potential to replace commonly available polymeric coating materials, which emit high amount of toxic gasses and are prone to mildew and weathering problems. Furthermore, the unique properties of the e-solar paint help to increase the productivity in application as only one coat is required as compared to those conventional paint that usually requires a primer before the actual application.
