Background/Description

Solenoid valves are electromechanically operated valves widely used in a variety of industries for fluid control. The seeker is a Singapore-based precision engineering company developing a miniature 12VDC solenoid valve. The company is developing these valves for use in medical devices and are progressing into the detail design and development phases. The company is seeking technical expertise or consultants to help them characterize the design, validate the performance and eventually develop an in-house reliability programme for the testing of these miniature solenoid valves.

Technology Specification

The consultant should be familiar with the design characteristics of solenoid valves and be able to help validate and optimize the current design. The consultant should also be able to guide the company on aspects such as developing test protocols, test setup, failure characterization and analysis, accelerated life testing, reliability growth among others.

Some examples of test requirements are as follows (not limited to the below):

Reliability test

The valve should meet the requirements of a minimum 25 million cycles at room temperature with 40-micron filtration with no lubrication

Leakage test

Less than 0.016 sccm of air

The company is primarily interested in a consultancy arrangement, but open to discuss other modes.
