3-in-1 Asset Tracker - BLE/Wi-fi/GPS Indoor and Outdoor applications

Nowadays indoor tracking systems require heavy infrastructure set up, and it could be a big challenge when the users simply want to localize their valuable mobile assets.

We have developed a 3-in-1 asset tracker, which is able to manage and monitor the assets indoor and outdoor. The device is battery operated that sends geolocation through Sigfox network. The benefits of deploying the device include the improvement of productivity and cost-saving for lost assets replacement. Furthermore, the lifespan of the device is expected to operate for more than 8 years, and thus no maintenance is needed.

Briefly, the device detects the signal from the closest BLE Beacons - that are placed on the asset; and sends the identification documents (IDs) to the internet of things (IoT) Sigfox platform (where Sigfox transmission is used as a backhaul when the other connectivity is out of range).

This tracking solution can also indicate:

• If an asset has been immobile for too long (also reports of its location and time)
• When it has been moved after being motionless
• If it steps out a predefined area
• If too many assets are located in the same location

Potential use-cases:

• Track medical purposes assets within hospitals. The device can be used to locate a wheelchair both indoor and outdoor. For example, the device helps to locate a wheelchair-patient who is moving around in a hospital (e.g. hallways, different floors) or places nearby, such as MRT stations.
• The device can also be used to detect goods that are being transported from an origin to a large warehouse for storage. The asset could be indoor most of the time except when they are transported outdoor to another warehouse for storage. 

The cost of deployment and per device is low. Moreover, the power consumption is low and the dashboard’s interface user is simple but efficient.

The deployment of the devices increases the efficiency of the assets and manpower management. It reduces assets’ misplacement and therefore new assets investments.
