A leading and innovative New Zealand agribusiness with a secure supply of high-quality deer milk is seeking development and commercialisation partners to help leverage the potential of deer milk in the personal care category. Deer milk has more protein than any other milk and has been proven to have hydrating, protecting and naturally whitening benefits for skin. Tests among consumers show an agreeable response towards the use of deer milk as an active ingredient in skin care products such as moisturisers and serums, especially for the luxury and premium segment of the market.

Deer milk has been proven to have the following skin-rejuvenating and revitalising qualities:

  • High-quality protein
Deer milk has a high concentration of protein (34.7%) and fat (38.4%).
  • Hydrating
In a trial, skin was 5X more hydrated compared to the base formulation after 10 days of using the deer milk product.
  • Protective and healing
The company's deer milk formulation contains vitamin A, E, selenium, sphingomyelin and phosphatidylcholine, which provide protection against exposure to harsh chemicals and environmental stressors.
  • Naturally whitenening and brightening
A sustained and accumulative whitening or brightening effect on the skin was observed over time, with evidence of a significant reduction in melanin.
  • Gentle and suitable for sensitive skin
Trials show minor changes in the values of erythema or redness of the skin which were not statistically significant, indicating no irritation of the skin causing measurable redness had occurred.

The New Zealand company is seeking potential partners to develop deer milk as an active ingredient in a range of personal care products, including but not limited to:

  • Concentrated nutrition cream
  • Regeneration cream
  • Mask pack
  • Sleeping pack
  • Two-pot system with two ingredients combined for enhanced benefits e.g. milk and honey
  • Cosmetics such as nail and lip cream

Deer milk is considered a rare and precious natural resource, providing customers with abundant skin-nourishing benefits such as:

  • Sustained hydration and moisture
  • Protection and healing
  • Whitening and brightening
  • Gentle enough for sensitive skins

In a four-week usage trial, three out of five users felt that it made skin feel soft, smooth and silky after use. Skin appearance improved over the trial period: Skin was well hydrated, less dry, fine lines were less obvious, with overall skin feeling firmer, softer and smoother.
