Due to the development of science and economic growth, the average life expectancy of people is gradually increasing. This in turn means that the proportion of the elderly population is increasing due to the aging of the social structure along with the increased life expectancy. A new social issue is emerging as the proportion of the elderly living alone is rapidly increasing. Therefore, there is a growing need for continuous awareness and management of senior citizens living alone nationally, as well as in community clusters.

Systems targeting senior citizens living alone is being developed in forms of motion sensors, surveillance cameras, wireless emergency buttons etc. In case of a sudden health problem, real-time information collected by mentioned devices are managed and integrated in a management center. However, there are too much junk information that are not needed to be detected. This is where the value proposition of the technology comes into play. The offered technology is able to collect only key information from the user, reducing noisy and irrelevant data.


The technology consists of a number of parts.

  1. Message delivery unit sends the message to the user, and the interaction unit detects the start of user interaction through user's voice and video.
  2. When the user interaction begins, real-time information is collected through a wearable device attached to the user.
  3. When the user action matching the message is done, data is then stored in storage and later transferred to the server.
  4. Junk data is distinguished by analyzing the time spent to finish the action.
  5. When an amount of time passes and the action hasn't been done, the system makes a judgement that the message delivery has failed.
  6. When the decision is made, the action of collecting real-time data is stopped immediately.
  7. The technology is able to collect only meaningful and matching data that has successfully showed interaction with the user.
  8. This enables the AI to provide more exact and specific actions for the user later on.
  9. This process reduces the percentage of errors and missed interactions from occurring.


The technology is aimed to collect only available and useful information so that the AI could provide meaningful service to the user. The product where the technology is applied has an appearance of a seven year-old-child. It is a companion robot that supports senior's life management, prevent dementia, prevents depression, gives emotional support by making it available to hold hands, stroke and communicate emotionally. Various sensors, which origins from the technology described above are built in. Moreover, it is connected via app to designated caregiver.

The app provides variety of functions such as personalized and customized daily schedule, senior instructional and assessment contents such as simple quizzes and exercises, remote monitoring of senior activity, and a scheduled alarm function through a voice mechanism. The technology aims to provide the seniors with a regular lifestyle with a specific routine, and to provide an energetic life for the seniors.


The technology described can not only be applied to an AI for seniors, but it can also be customized to work in other functions.
