TECHNOLOGY OVERVIEW

The technology is a one-stop platform comprising auto-assessment of skin health phenotype and genotype and recommendation of suitable cosmetics to users, to accelerate personalized skin care. Phenotype assessment is achieved by processing magnified facial images, acquired from a proprietary portable device, with machine learning algorithms. Recommendation is generated to fit each unique skin health profile (type, problem index and inherent risk assessment). The technology can also be used to track progress and benefits after applying the recommended cosmetics.

The minimal viable product (MVP) was completed early this year.

TECHNOLOGY FEATURES & SPECIFICATIONS

Technology features and specifications include the following:

  • Proprietary tools to capture magnified skin images under consistent conditions
  • App and web-based interface to perform skin health assessment and cosmetics recommendation
  • Database: skin health related repository and cosmetic solution hub

Market Trends & Opportunities

The global cosmetic skin care market was valued at approximately USD 138.09 billion in 2017 and is expected to generate revenue of around USD 190.40 billion by end of 2023, growing at a CAGR of around 5.50% between 2017 and 2023. Personalisation is recognised as instrumental in the cosmetic skin care market with the trend largely driven by younger, internet-savvy consumers with higher expectations and are willing to utilise both online and in-store diagnostics to get them.

Benefits
