TECHNOLOGY OVERVIEW

The global coating industry has evolved from the basic purpose of providing protection for surfaces to incorporating innovations such as improved environmentally "green" solutions primarily aimed at protecting the surrounding environment as well as delivering the longest sustainable value for consumers, society and the environment. Green, sustainable coatings encompass the responsible use of resources, very low or zero volatile organic compounds (VOC), enhanced life cycle, enhanced functionality, and safe disposal, recovery and recyclability.

New water-based, green coating systems have been developed based on a “grafted copolymer” technology. The specially designed polymer provides synergistic properties of multiple high performance polymers. The synthesis of this polymer molecule is done via a unique polymerisation process to form a branched structure. In particular, this process is done in water with no addition of co-solvents or coalescent agents which contribute to VOC content in the coating system.

TECHNOLOGY FEATURES & SPECIFICATIONS

Based on this unique polymer technology, the following specialty coatings have been developed:

  • Fire resistant coating: Halogen-free, applicable on wood, plastics, glass, paper and metal
  • Room temperature galvanizing coatings: Replacement of hot dip galvanizing process with green and cost-effective features
  • Heat insulation energy saving coating with waterproofing effect: Energy savings of up to 30% and keeps concrete and metal surfaces free from leakage during monsoon
  • Anti-corrosion coating: Prevents corrosion of ferrous and non-ferrous metals in the most challenging environments
  • Electric insulation coating: High dielectric strength to avoid current leakage to impart safety to electric operations
