Danone Nutricia Research is a global research and innovation organisation behind Early Life Nutrition and Specialised Nutrition. The organisation brings health through food to as many people as possible, particularly those who need special care. 

Science is at the heart of their nutrition and health commitment. Therefore, they focus their skills and resources to deliver specialised nutrition to mothers and infants, patients and the elderly. 

Danone Nutricia Research - Precision Nutrition Digital Lab of Singapore is excited to find partners who would embark with us in the journey of bringing health to people through digital innovation, with a particular focus on early life. All international startups or teams of technologists who may have relevant skills or solutions are welcomed to take part in the first D2Hack: the Danone Digitalisation Hackathon.

Problem Statement

As parents introduce their child to new foods, they are also closely monitoring how they react to them. They are conscious that they may develop, or already have, allergic reactions to certain ingredients (e.g. lactose, peanut, gluten etc.) so they always need to check. It’s not enough to just trust the packaging labels or the indications on restaurant menus. 

Technical Specifications

We are seeking for allergen detection technologies that would let the parents know that the food their child is about to consume is safe and should not cause them an allergic reaction.

With allergen detection technology, they know that wherever they go – whether it’s a play date or a day out -- they can be more adventurous in exploring new, fresher ingredients and remain confident that the food they give their child is allergen-free.


To be eligible for co-funding support, the participant must be an entity that is registered in Singapore.
