Seeking Technologies to Prevent and/or Reduce Malodour

Background / Description

An American MNC is seeking lifescience-inspired technologies to prevent and/or remove malodors in, on, and/or around themselves, their families and environment. The technology should also offer other benefits besides malodour prevention and/or reduction. 

Technical Specifications

Technology should minimally fulfil the following criteria:

  • Long‐lasting malodor prevention/reduction (at least 12 hours)
  • Offer multiple‐benefits (e.g., skin health, perfume/scents, clean‐feel, convenience, etc)
  • Targeted activation (made available/activated when the malodor of concern is present)
  • Must not contain any new chemical entities
  • Prefer patented technologies


Potential technologies: 

  • Those from other industries to control the function of microbial communities (e.g., waste water treatment, etc) are acceptable, but they should be customisable to fit consumer product goods (CPG)‐relevant malodor control, (e.g. household, fabric, and/or human body surfaces, etc)
  • Delivery forms (e.g. aerosol, topical, systemic delivery solutions not be regulated as drugs by the FDA, etc)
  • Others
