The in vivo anti-infection activity of current materials in mice model (SA infection) shows that the anti-microbial polymers had a high therapeutic index (LD50/ED50) of >30 against SA infection. An ideal anti-microbial polymer should also be non-toxic to mammalian cells. We tested the haemolysis percentage and this was found to be only 4% at 5000 µg/ml, the selectivity is over 3300.
