Packing containers is an integral part of the supply chain in all industries. Currently, most of the containers used for transporting goods are made of glass or plastic. In addition, they are often designed to be disposed of after use and are rarely recycled. Hence, these containers end up in the junkyard and environment as waste materials.
The technology outlined here is a unique method to reuse plastic bottles through a special packing material. This provides a sustainable solution for the reduction of waste from disposal of containers by reusing the plastic bottles without compromising on the cost and cleanliness of the bottles. The packing material used to line the bottles is biodegradable, ensuring that the operation is environmentally friendly.
The technology lies in the process to reuse of plastic bottles through the changing of packing material. A specially designed plastic bottle with a unique bottom serves as the base of the container. A special packing foil is used to wrap the inside and outside of the bottle and shrink to the bottle. Used bottles can be collected and repacked into new packing foils so as to allow the reuse of the bottles. The packing foil comes in two varieties: a traditional polyethene foil or a biodegradable foil. The packing foil is inert, hence is suitable for bottling a wide range of materials. The bottles can be made to a variety of shape and sizes ranging between 0.3 to 5 litres.
