Assistant Manager/Manager, Digital Platforms

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Digital Platforms, you are responsible for managing IPI’s IT Systems, and prototyping new initiatives in the digital space.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with stakeholders to obtain requirements for the various systems.
  • Recommend digital innovation to improve work processes and increase productivity within the organisation.
  • Engage and manage vendors to execute the development and maintenance of the systems.
  • Manage vendors to ensure systems and services are running optimally on cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Perform hands-on coding to build working prototypes, and write concise requirement specifications.

 

Pre-requisites:

  • Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in managing portals.
  • Proficient in cloud architecture and infrastructure, project management and application development.
  • Strong technical skills in cloud technology, IT security, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, LAMP/WAMP.
  • Hands-on Experience in setting up Web System and developing Web Applications.
  • Strong coding skills to build working prototypes. Experience in using web frameworks to develop web and mobile apps.
  • Self-starter and able to work well with highly technical cross-discipline teams.
  • Good command of English - to be able to write concise technical specifications.

 

Technology Manager

Reporting to the Cluster Head, you will work closely with the management of local enterprises to address technology challenges that they encounter in their business, by actively seeking and matching them to suitable technologies or experts with the required experience and skill. You will also get the opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team in IPI to solve companies’ problems that span across multiple technical fields and gain new knowledge in the process.  

Besides working with enterprises, in support of our government’s efforts to transform the industry, you will work with the team in performing extensive research to identify emerging technology/market trends, and scout for suitable technologies and intellectual property (IP) globally to enable innovation with regard to the respective Industry Transformation Maps. Subsequently, you’ll work closely with the government, trade organisations and the industry to catalyse adoption of those technologies to actualise the industry transformation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with enterprises to translate their technical challenges into problem statements for crowdsourcing
  • Source for available expertise and technologies globally to support enterprise in product/service developments or enhancements
  • Interface and interaction with government agencies on industry transformation strategies and plans
  • Mapping of industry value-chains and to keep abreast of market and technology trends
  • Conduct technical due diligence on emerging technologies
  • Assessment and clustering of technology and patent portfolio into application areas for industry consumption
  • Actively engage strategic technology providers with technology portfolio in areas of interest
  • Stakeholders’ engagement 

Pre-requisites:

 

Infocomm Technology and Electronics

  • Degree or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electronics Engineering.
  • Possess good technical and industry knowledge in the infocomm and electronics sectors.
  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience in one or more of these areas, which include automation, robotics, computer vision, artificial intelligence, machine learning, algorithm design and development.
  • Work experience in an industry development office, R&D/CTO office or technology transfer organisation would be advantageous.
  • Ability to think laterally, grasp and communicate complex technical concepts with clarity.
  • Fast learner with sense of urgency.
  • Good project management, technical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to organise and present research findings clearly using suitable tools and software.
  • Talent for networking and strategic influence is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skill and work well in a multi-disciplinary team.

 

Health and Personal Care

  • Degree or postgraduate degree in Life Science, Clinical Science, Biochemistry or Biomedical Engineering.
  • Possess good technical and industry knowledge in the healthcare and personal or consumer care sectors.
  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience in one or more of these areas, which include medical device, diagnostic design, product development, clinical and regulatory pathways.
  • Work experience in an industry development office, R&D/CTO office or technology transfer organisation would be advantageous.
  • Ability to think laterally, grasp and communicate complex technical concepts with clarity.
  • Fast learner with sense of urgency.
  • Good project management, technical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to organise and present research findings clearly using suitable tools and software.

 Energy and Environment

  • Degree or postgraduate degree in Environmental or Chemical or Civil Engineering.
  • Possess good technical and industry knowledge in the environmental, energy, clean technology, building and construction sectors.
  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience in one or more of these areas, which include energy management, green building management, waste-to-worth, waste-to-energy, renewable energy and smart grid.
  • Work experience in an industry development office, R&D/CTO office or technology transfer organisation would be advantageous.
  • Ability to think laterally, grasp and communicate complex technical concepts with clarity.
  • Fast learner with sense of urgency.
  • Good project management, technical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to organise and present research findings clearly using suitable tools and software.

Manufacturing

  • Degree or postgraduate degree in Mechatronics or Mechanical or Manufacturing (major in automation)
  • Possess good technical and industry knowledge in industrial automation, control system, manufacturing processes, material selection and product development.
  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience in one or more of these areas, which include product design and development, industrial automation, robotics, manufacturing, system integration. metallurgy and system control
  • Work experience in an industry development office, R&D/CTO office or technology transfer organisation would be advantageous.
  • Ability to think laterally, grasp and communicate complex technical concepts with clarity.
  • Fast learner with sense of urgency.
  • Good project management, technical and analytical skills.
