Senior Manager, Innovation Advisory

Reporting to the Director of Innovation Advisory, you will proactively engage the business community to identify and secure interest from potential companies to participate in our new Innovation Advisor programme. You will also work with a multi-disciplinary team in IPI to address challenges faced by the companies and identify suitable Innovation Advisors to help them on their innovation journey.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with business leaders and technology partners to anticipate business challenges, identify new trends drivers and opportunities for Singapore SMEs, and propose new initiatives to address any technology and innovation gaps.
  • Proactively engage companies to identify and secure interest to participate in the program.
  • Lead and execute outreach initiatives to engage potential companies, including developing marketing collaterals and content with the support of Marcom team.
  • Identify and analyse business needs and develop customised project scope in partnership with Innovation Advisors.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including companies and Innovation Advisors.
  • Manage projects to ensure timely delivery of milestones based on agreed scope and budget.
  • Track the progress of projects and provide timely updates and reports to key stakeholders.
  • Work with the Director to meet the defined performance metrics of the program within scope, time, quality and budget constraint.

 

Pre-requisites:

  • Degree or postgraduate degree in Business, Engineering, Science or Economics.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in programme management or strategic planning.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Resourceful team player.
  • Strong problem solving, communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in innovation development and/or technology will be an advantage.
  • Proficient in M/S office (eg Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Good interpersonal skills and has the ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team.

 

Technology Manager

Reporting to the Cluster Head, you will work closely with the management of local enterprises to understand and scope the technology challenges that they encounter in their businesses. You will then collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team in IPI to address these challenges by identifying suitable technologies, intellectual property (IP) and experts through IPI’s global innovation network.

In addition, you will work with the team in conducting extensive research to identify emerging technology/market trends. The role will require you to engage various stakeholders such as industry, local innovation and enterprise offices, government agencies and trade organisations to catalyse the adoption of technologies to actualise industry transformation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with enterprises to translate their technical challenges into problem statements for crowdsourcing.
  • Source for available expertise and technologies, both locally and globally, to support enterprise in product/service developments or enhancements.
  • Conduct technical due diligence on emerging technologies.
  • Map industry value-chains and keep abreast of market and technology trends.
  • Engage strategic technology providers with technology portfolio in areas of interest.

Pre-requisites:

Manufacturing

  • Degree or postgraduate degree in Engineering, majoring in Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation or Intelligent Systems.
  • Possess good technical and industry knowledge in unmanned autonomous systems, robotics, industrial automation, control systems and product development.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in one or more of these areas, which may include R&D, design and development or systems design and integration.
  • Work experience in an industry development office, R&D/CTO office or technology transfer organisation would be advantageous.
  • Ability to think laterally, grasp and communicate complex technical concepts with clarity.
  • Fast learner with a sense of urgency.
  • Good project management, technical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to organise and present research findings clearly using suitable tools and software.
  • Good networking and strategic influencing skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and has the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team.

 

Materials and Chemicals

  • Degree or postgraduate degree in Bioengineering or Biotechnology.
  • Possess good technical and industry knowledge in farming, aquaculture, or related aspects to these industries.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in agricultural technology (indoor/outdoor), aquaculture, agrochemicals, animal health and nutrition, plant health and nutrition, bioreaction and microbiology.
  • Work experience in an industry development office, R&D/CTO office or technology transfer organisation would be advantageous.
  • Ability to think laterally, grasp and communicate complex technical concepts with clarity.
  • Fast learner with sense of urgency.
  • Good project management, technical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to organise and present research findings clearly using suitable tools and software.

Energy and Environment

  • Degree or postgraduate degree in Engineering, majoring in power engineering, electrical engineering or mechanical engineering.
  • Possess good technical and industry knowledge in the environmental, energy, clean technology, building and construction sectors.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in one or more of these areas, which include energy management, green building management, waste-to-worth, waste-to-energy, renewable energy and smart grid.
  • Work experience in an industry development office, R&D/CTO office or technology transfer organisation would be advantageous.
  • Ability to think laterally, grasp and communicate complex technical concepts with clarity.
  • Fast learner with sense of urgency.

Assistant Manager / Manager, Marketing & Communications

You will have the opportunity to support a range of marketing and communications activities, with a key focus on content creation and event management. The ideal candidate will have a track record of managing and marketing successful events and have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Write, edit and publish content for IPI’s digital platforms, e.g. website, social media, and newsletter.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to plan, organise and execute large and small-scale events such as TechInnovation, IPI’s flagship technology brokerage event, exhibitions, seminars and workshops amongst others.
  • Lead and closely manage the editing, design, and production of marketing collaterals and ensure alignment with brand guidelines.
  • Review and manage third-party event partnership requests and coordinate with partners to ensure that deliverables are met.
  • Track and monitor the results of all executed efforts.

 

Pre-requisites:

  • Degree in Marketing or Communications-related field.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience in corporate/marketing communications and event management.
  • Experience in digital communications and working knowledge in photo and video editing applications (e.g. Adobe Photoshop) preferred.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English. Proficiency in the Chinese language is a plus.
  • Highly organised with strong project management skills.
  • Resourceful, pro-active and meticulous.
  • Independent self-starter who is able to work well with highly technical cross-disciplinary teams in a dynamic environment.
