Deputy Director, Innovation Advisory

Reporting to the Director of Innovation Advisory, you will oversee the effective outreach and relevance of the Innovation Advisory Programme (IAP) to the industry and companies. You will be responsible for developing, managing and delivering innovation projects  You will need to actively manage and motivate the Innovation Advisors to identify innovation scope and develop differentiated competency; product; process and/or business model with the curated tech-centric or tech-enabled companies. In addition to working closely with the external industry leaders and providing thought-leadership to connect technologies to businesses, you will also onboard, equip and cultivate the Innovation Advsiors.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with business leaders (eg TACs) and technology partners to anticipate business challenges, trends drivers and opportunities for SMEs at the sector-level, and provide thought-leadership in coming up with new initiatives to address any technology and innovation gap
  • Work with Innovation Advisors to strategize and plan the engagement process with potential companies and to scope out the opportunities and deliverables for each project
  • Develop collaborative relationship with key stakeholders, companies and Innovation Advisors
  • Manage and drive the projects to ensure milestones and deliverables are adhered to and resolve any project related issues and challenges
  • Onboard and continual engagement of Innovation Advisors
  • Develop strategies to drive awareness and uptake of the IAP in more sectors
  • Work across departments to synergistically cross-sell IPI services

 

Pre-requisites:

  • Masters or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Science or Economics
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in business consultancy, programme management or strategic planning with at least 5 years in leadership capacity
  • Good track record of developing partnerships and engaging stakeholders
  • Result-oriented. outcome-driven, comfortable with complexity and demonstrated ability to look at big picture
  • Excellent project management, communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Experience in innovation development, technology and/or innovation adoption in enterprises will be advantageous
  • A good understanding of the Research Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) ecosystem in Singapore, and/or familiarity of any technology domain will be advantageous

Senior Manager, Innovation Advisory

Reporting to the Director of Innovation Advisory, you will proactively engage the business community to identify and secure interest from potential companies to participate in our new Innovation Advisor programme. You will also work with a multi-disciplinary team in IPI to address challenges faced by the companies and identify suitable Innovation Advisors to help them on their innovation journey.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and drive the progress of projects to ensure milestones and deliverables are adhered to, and resolve issues and challenges related to the project

Senior Technology Manager, Open Innovation

Reporting to the Director, Intermediary, you will be responsible for strategizing, formulating plans, spearheading, leading and executing various initiatives and outreach activities to anchor IPI’s role as a credible Open Innovation (OI) facilitator.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop plans and business models to generate revenue for cost recovery purposes
  • Design and conduct outreach and marketing activities to promote OI services
  • Drive process and outcome for OI Challenges for corporate and government agencies
  • Engage various stakeholders across different sectors, both in the public and private sectors as well as regionally
  • Engage decision makers in corporate to bring them onboard IPI’s OI Challenge services
  • Lead and project manage a multi-functional project team to execute OI Challenge calls
  • Reach out to IPI’s global network to source for solutions to address the innovation needs of the corporate and government agencies

 

Pre-requisites:

  • Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering.  Candidates with postgraduate qualifications in Technology Management, Intellectual Property Management or Business Administration will also be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in industry and preferably, with experience in technology scouting and/or technology transfer organisations, with 3 years in leadership capacity.
  • Ability to cultivate and build alliances with strategic partners.
  • Strong knowledge in diverse area/s of technology, IP commercialization.

Technology Manager

Reporting to the Cluster Head, you will work closely with the management of local enterprises to understand and scope the technology challenges that they encounter in their businesses. You will then collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team in IPI to address these challenges by identifying suitable technologies, intellectual property (IP) and experts through IPI’s global innovation network.

In addition, you will work with the team in conducting extensive research to identify emerging technology/market trends. The role will require you to engage various stakeholders such as industry, local innovation and enterprise offices, government agencies and trade organisations to catalyse the adoption of technologies to actualise industry transformation.

  • Degree or postgraduate degree in Engineering, majoring in Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation or Intelligent Systems.
  • Possess good technical and industry knowledge in unmanned autonomous systems, robotics, industrial automation, control systems and product development.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in one or more of these areas, which may include R&D, design and development or systems design and integration.

  • Work experience in an industry development office, R&D/CTO office or technology transfer organisation would be advantageous.

  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in one or more of these areas, which include energy management, green building management, waste-to-worth, waste-to-energy, renewable energy and smart grid.

Manager, Digital Platforms

In today’s environment, digital transformation is needed to enable technology advancements to create a competitive advantage for the organisation. As the key driver to create IT-enabled business capabilities to support and improve the efficiency of business operations, you will act as a strategic interface between business and IT to enable the business with innovative technologies and capabilities that is aligned with business goals and objectives.

You will lead Digital Transformation initiatives within the organisation by identifying gaps and build bridges between people, process, technology and information. You will introduce tools for internal and external analysis to help identify digital opportunities.  You will gather trends from digital technology partners we work with to implement digital projects in the pursuit of creating value for the organisation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute the organization’s digital strategies, plans and priorities by providing relevant input and understanding of existing and emerging technologies, applications and trends.
  • Identify areas of automation and enhancement to systems to meet the business needs by providing advice on best practices in exploiting appropriate digital technology.
  • Create prototypes of solutions and emerging technologies in the market (such as AI, Data Analytics, Robotic Process Automation, Biometrices, VR / AR etc) for adoption based on stakeholders’ requirements and business needs.
  • Extract and analyse data from internal systems to obtain insights and drive business performance.
  • Identify and implement projects in improving operations efficiency and service quality.
  • Validate system design, architecture and deployment of new IT systems and services to meet the operational needs of the organization.
  • Gather user requirement to ensure the full set of systems requirements are included and ensure timely completion of systems/projects within budget.
  • Perform project management in outsourcing environment to ensure that contractual obligations are met and projects are successfully delivered by vendors/service providers; vendors’ performance is monitored in accordance with contractual obligations and service-level agreements; and project risks are properly mitigated and managed.
  • Managed vendors to ensure the smooth operational management of all business and IT applications and systems.

 

Pre-requisites:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology/Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in digital transformation management, IT application consulting and development, project management, data analytics and outsourcing management.
  • Solid background in emerging/disruptive technologies such as AI, Data Analytics, Robotic Process Automation, Biometrices, VR, AR, Machine Learning, IoT applications, Predictive Analytics, etc and possess the ability to articulate these trends and recommend solutions for adoption.
  • Implemented at least 1 full AI project life cycle.
  • Experience in Cloud Storage and Microsoft Office suite of Software will be an advantage, eg SharePoint, Teams, PowerAutomate etc.
  • Ability to translate technical terminology, concepts and issues to terms that can be understood by technical and non-technical management and staff.
  • Good interpersonal, communications, presentation and negotiation skills.

 

Programme Coordinator, Innovation Advisory

Reporting to the Director, Innovation Advisory, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective operationalization of the Innovation Advisors Programme (IAP). You will drive the outreach efforts of the programme, in partnership with the Marketing and Communications team. You will also be providing support to the CEO office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Organize company visits and meetings
  • Compile and prepare quarterly and monthly reports
  • Maintains records of contracts/agreements and key documentation
  • Keep track of project schedules
  • Track payment schedules for different projects and work closely with HR and Finance for payment and billing matters
  • Develop, maintain and refresh information on the website with the assistance of Marketing and Communications team
  • Develop and maintain the calendar of events jointly with Marketing and Communications team

 

Pre-requisites:

  • Diploma / Degree in Finance, Accounting, Mass Communication or Business Administration
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in a similar capacity. Prior experience in program coordination work will be advantageous.
