Dr Sun Xiaolong is the Founder and Managing Director of Zerowaste Asia (ZA). He has more than 20 years of research and industrial experience in waste, wastewater, and materials science. He is proficient in waste and wastewater treatment, waste-to-resource management, environmental impact assessment, green construction materials, and materials science. Together with his team in ZA, he has completed numerous industrial, research and development, and consultancy projects in waste and wastewater treatment as well as waste-to-resource management. His team collaborated with NEA to conduct Singapore's first comprehensive study on incineration bottom ash (IBA) utilisation in 2012 and was contracted by NEA to treat IBA into NEWSand. Dr Sun has provided solutions to challenging waste and wastewater treatment for various industries with pollutants including heavy metals, organic pollutants, fluoride, cyanide, phenolic compounds, chemical oxygen demand (COD), total suspended solids (TSS), colour, ammonia nitrogen, etc. Dr Sun obtained his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from NTU. He is the inventor of 14 patents and author of numerous research publications on environmental technologies. He is familiar with toxicity characteristic leaching procedure (TCLP), as well as environmental standards in Singapore, China and the European Union.
Dr Ng Kian Ann

DigiPen Institute of Technology

Dr Ng Kian Ann has 20 years of experience in integrated circuits (IC) design and applications. He is currently Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at DigiPen Institute of Technology Singapore. He is also a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and an office-bearer in the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society (Singapore Chapter). He also participates in the IEC TC 47 - Semiconductor Devices standards committee. Before joining DigiPen, he held senior technical positions with STMicroelectronics, Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing (now GlobalFoundries), and Oxford Semiconductor (now part of Broadcom) from 2000 to 2009. During this time, he designed many of the integrated circuits (IC) inside microchips we use every day, such as contactless smartcards, USB1.1 to USB 3.0, Firewire, CMOS image sensors, and ESD/IO circuits. He also briefly consulted for the IC design community from 2009 to 2010. After that, he held various research positions in National University of Singapore (NUS) from 2010 to 2020. During his time at NUS spent in Electronic and Biomedical research, he and his team developed wearable, IoT-based EEG/Neurological front-ends that are currently used by the National University Hospital and NUS' research laboratories. He holds 5 U.S. patents and has authored/co-authored more than 30 technical journals and conference proceedings.

Vivek has a track record of success in developing new products on a commercial scale, enhancing the quality of existing products, and generating innovative ideas/concepts. He also authored the book, "Ice Cream Manufacture and Technology". He provides consultancy to regional and global dairy/food organisations in the following areas: Product technology development for value added products such as UHT milk / beverages, UHT cream and related products, evaporated milk, condensed milk, bioactive powders, whiteners, nutritional powder blends, infant formula, bioactive beverages and fermented milks, UHT juices and related products, ice cream and related products, juice milk spreads/ flans, instant desserts, foodstuffs, bottled water, etc.; Product innovation and identification of new product development opportunities; Improvement of existing products and processes to increase companies' efficiency and profitability; Trouble shooting to solve problems related to product quality, processing technology or related activities; Development of vision and strategy for achieving their R&D goals. A/Prof Ma Fan Yung

National University of Singapore (NUS)

A/Prof Ma Fan Yung is currently Adjunct Associate Professor in NUS Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is also Co-founder and VP Engineering (Power Management) in HaloV Singapore. With more 30 years of experience, Fan Yung is a technical expert in analog design CMOS, BiCMOS with proven silicon in delta-sigma converters, temperature sensors, power management and transceivers. He is also a technical reviewer for internal and external analog designs. He is skilled in mixed signal design robustness and digital noise rejection issues in standard CMOS technology. He is also a TÜV SÜD certified Functional Safety Engineer Level 1 (ISO 26262). He was previously Principal (Mixed Signal Concept) in Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific, where he developed CMOS temperature sensors, from concept, architectures to calibration. With Infineon, he was inventor of 19 patents. Earlier in his career, he was Manager/Staff Engineer (Design) at Harris Semiconductor and as the analog design lead, he was involved in the development of the world's first high order modulator single shot sigma-delta ADC product. Fan Yung has a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (Honors Cooperative Programme) from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Electrical Engineering from University of Toronto.

Prof Jeff Obbard is an environmental scientist and engineer with more than 20 years of research and consultancy experience in climate change, sustainability & environmental technologies in the region of Southeast Asia, and internationally. Jeff is also a Visiting Professor to the School of Water, Energy & Environment, Cranfield University in the UK. Jeff has held various positions in universities, research institutes and private companies. He spent 17 years at the National University of Singapore, Faculty of Engineering, in positions including Director of the Sustainable Development & Water Alliance, and Research Director at the Tropical Marine Science Institute. He was also a Principal Scientist at A*STAR, Singapore, and the Vice President of Science & Technology on a Royal Dutch Shell Petroleum joint-venture in the USA. In the private sector, he was Director of Environment, Sustainability & Climate Change at Tembusu Asia Consulting in Singapore, and a Senior Scientist in Hong Kong where he managed environmental assessment projects for civil infrastructure developments, as well as environmental technology related to carbon capture, waste-to-energy and biofuels. Jeff is serving as an Expert Reviewer to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and was the team leader for the UN Mondialogo Engineering Award for sustainable development. He has provided training throughout ASEAN on aspects of climate change science, mitigation and adaptation.

A/Prof Tam has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare, health and medical research and research management sector including tertiary teaching hospitals, medical research institutes and universities across Australia. He has a wealth of experience in the management and conducting of clinical trials for pharmaceutical drugs, medical devices and digital health. A/Prof Tam serves as non-executive director on various NFP, healthcare and aged care boards providing his broad range of expertise including strategy, governance, and sector specific in health and medical research. He also advises numerous medtech and health tech start-ups on their overall strategies, clinical trials strategies, project management and execution. Dr Eujin Pei is Director, Postgraduate Research and Director, BSc Product Design Engineering Programme at Brunel University London, UK. He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and a Chartered Technological Product Designer (CTPD). With his expertise in Product Development and Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing), he has completed commercial projects involving Computer-Aided-Design, Reverse Engineering, Market Research and Product Evaluation. He has a keen interest in Human Factors and Usability, ensuring that products and services are inclusive, fit for use, and that the user experience is fulfilled. He is Chair for the British Standards Institute AMT/8 Committee for Additive Manufacturing and UK Head of Delegate for ISO/TC261. He is Convenor for ISO/TC261/WG4 for Additive Manufacturing in Data and Design and ISO/TC261/JG67 for Functionally Graded Additive Manufacturing. He is the Editor-in-Chief for the Progress in Additive Manufacturing Journal, and active in Knowledge Transfer Partnership programmes that enable universities and companies to collaborate and transfer knowledge. As a Product Design Engineer during the early days of his career, he developed solutions for companies including Motorola, LM Ericsson, Sennheiser and Rentokil Initial. He has published over 80 papers in leading journals and international conferences. His projects have been exhibited at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York, as well as in the Panasonic Centre in Tokyo.

Mike wrote the European Business Sourcebook, Foreign Direct Investments in East and West Europe for International Thomson (now Thomson Reuters) in the UK. He also wrote Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Global Business Aspects for Springer GmbH (now Springer Nature). He was a Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Expert to United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Executive Board in Bonn. Mike has worked for Burns Roe Worley, RW Beck and Parsons Brinkerhoff (now WSP) in Singapore, Scott Wilson (now AECOM) in Hong Kong, CPCS in Nigeria, Shell in Malaysia, and YTL Power in Lebanon. Mike is currently involved in project origination, private equity and private debt fund structuring for clean and renewable energy and infrastructure projects. Mike obtained his MBA in International Business and Finance from Cass Business School, PhD in Engineering from Imperial College London, MSc in Environmental Pollution Control and BSc in Energy from University of Leeds.

Chan Joy Seng is the Director and Accredited Nutritionist of Alive Nutrition Consultancy. He holds a Masters of Medical Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Sheffield in UK and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Food Science and Technology from the National University of Singapore. He is an Accredited Nutritionist of Singapore with the Singapore Nutrition & Dietetics Association, as well as member of Singapore Institute of Food Science & Technology and Society of Behavioural Health Singapore. Joy Seng began his career in the food industry with various food companies including Malaysia Dairy Industries and Addiction Pet Foods. His job scope included product development and formulation of nutritional content of food products, allowing him understand the perspective of food manufacturers and what consumers are concerned about in their food products. As a nutritionist, Joy Seng has conducted many nutrition and health talks as well as other programmes for Health Promotion Board (HPB), companies, community groups and the public. He also provides corporate nutrition consultancy services, which covers regulatory affairs of the food industry and nutrient tabulation and development of healthier food items. Joy Seng is involved in the training of nutrition and health topics. He is now teaching a course on Healthy Eating for Children at Republic Polytechnic and another course on Nutrition for Older Adults at Nanyang Technological University.
